Kitchen Manager – Cook

 

Jobs Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager/Cook. The successful applicant will work along side of owner/operators in food preparation, food handling, performing and overseeing meal service on the line and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Duties:

  • Prep according to recipes and portion sizes; fulfilling table orders from 100 seat dining room plus take out
  • Baking, Soups, Gravies, Sauces, Buffet Items
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure the highest quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste
  • Oversee kitchen and Wait staff and help with training
  • Help with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and placing scheduled deliveries
  • Support the team in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the food service industry
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food preparation methods
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to oversee Kitchen Staff

Job Type/ Remuneration:

  • Seasonal - Contract length: 9 months

Salary:

  • $20.00-$25.00 per hour
  • Expected hours: 25 – 44 per week

Schedule:

  • Morning shift

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Cooking: 3 years (required)

Language:

  • English (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Handler Certification (preferred)
  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
